ACADEMY RULES
- Cosmic Cheerleaders will not accept Legal Duty of Care for any athlete until they have been signed in.
- The door will not be opened until five minutes before the start of your athletes class and re-opened at the end of your athletes class.
- If you are running late or need to pick your athlete up early please make suitable arrangements on sign in.
- All athletes must be dismissed to a legal guardian before leaving the gym unless written consent from parents/carers has been approved by the Head Coach.
- No athletes under the age of 16 will be granted permission by the Club to leave the gym on their own.
- No parents/carers are permitted to stay for the duration of the session.
- Athletes must arrive in time for warm- up to avoid risk of injury.
- Athletes must arrive no earlier than five minutes before classes start.
- No jewellery may be worn at any time, long hair must be tied back & Cheer Shoes must be worn at all times. Academy uniform must be worn.
- Cheer Shoes must be brought in a separate bag and kept clean to be able to use the venues floor.
- The coaches decision as to how they plan their routines for the sake of safety, numbers, and the smooth running of the session is final and no athlete or their parent is allowed to question their decisions.
- Athletes must respect and listen to all Coaches, including Junior Coaches.
- Competition Athletes Selection to competition teams will be made at the discretion of Coaches.
- By accepting your invitation to the competition team at the beginning of the Season, you are committing to all competitions and events that Season.
- All competition athletes are required to purchase a competition uniform to be able to compete.
- All competition costs (including but not limited to: athlete entry fees, spectator tickets, uniform etc) once paid, will not be refunded.
- Monthly training fees must be paid by the first day of each month. The monthly payment is continuous for each half term, irrespective of illness, injury or holidays and are non-refundable.
- Failure to pay Academy fees by the 1st day of each half term will result in a £10 levy being charged for late payment and this will be added to your invoice.
- Athlete’s attendance must be as close to 100% as physically possible. If at any time during the season an athlete’s absence or punctuality are having an effect on the team they will unfortunately lose their place.
- The Academy reserves the right to suspend or dismiss any member for inappropriate behaviour or any action that may bring the club into disrepute. This is also applicable to parents and guardians.
- All parents/guardians of members, when signing the registration & participation form when booking (online) must make it clear if they do not agree to photographs being taken of their child.
- Parents must inform coaches of any injury or medication being taken before commencement of the session.
- Only athletes, coaches and authorised individuals are allowed in the gym in normal circumstances. If you wish to speak to a coach please contact the Head Coach directly who will make suitable arrangements for you.
- The Lead Coach is solely responsible for the well being and coaching of athletes, any concerns or issues raised need to be communicated to the Head Coach who will respond as soon as possible.
- Cosmic Cheerleaders adopts the SCE Safeguarding Policy, we do not tolerate bullying and operate as an equal opportunity academy.
- The Academy has a recognised Child Protection Officers, Sophie Hemmings and Ezmé Lomas. Any problems or concerns regarding aspects of the Academy and its members will involve the welfare officers.
- Parents and athletes are requested to build up an open, positive and supportive relationship with the coaching team, and coaches are requested to maintain open and positive communication with their athletes and athlete’s parents.
- No pictures or videos must be taken in the gym unless by prior agreement from the Head Coach.
- Any person coming into contact with the Academy must adhere to the relevant code of conduct.
- Cosmic Cheerleaders will not stand for abusive behaviour towards coaches, volunteers or management and will not hesitate to contact the police.
- Please ensure the email and phone number provided on signing up to a class are correct. This is how we send important information, and this will be your athlete's emergency contact.
